Quem não se recorda dos Village People??? Quem??? Impossível não saber.


A ideia da sua criação não foi apenas para demonstrar originalidade mas teve como intuito reunir num só grupo as imagens mais marcantes do Americano, o nativo, a lei, o trabalhador árduo, etc.

No final dos anos 70, época áurea do Disco (de que sou absolutamente fã) eles conseguiram revolucionar não só o mundo da música como muitas mentalidades que se fechavam a certas realidades. A homossexualidade foi trazida aos olhos de todos e assumida em pleno por muitos. E associada a ela surgiram músicas e vozes que se nuns casos não se percebe muito bem porquê no caso dos Village People entede-se perfeitamente.

Se um homem podia ter as suas mulheres de sonho, uma mulher os seus ícones de masculinidade porque não podia o homossexual "apreciar" o seu objecto de desejo.

Viva os The Village People pela sua quebra de tabus!!!
